A critical element to efficient operations can be On-Board Computing. Refine includes a solution for this from TouchStar, a Fuel Oil Systems Alliance partner.
The Raven TouchPC from TouchStar is completely integrated into Refine, picking up customer and site information directly from the Refine database.
As orders are planned in Routing, they are transmitted wirelessly to the appropriate vehicle. As soon as an order is confirmed, a signature is captured wirelessly and transmitted along with the confirmation of volume etc. back to Refine where Workflows & Automation progress it to an invoice within the Integrated Financials.
This smooth and rapid operation means that a customer can receive an invoice by email before your truck has even left the site.
Refine also reads back information from the TouchStar device, allowing drivers to complete tasks such as pre-shift and pre-delivery safety checks which can be logged in Refine, and drivers can also capture and record in real time any alerts or observations about a site. These are immediately incorporated into the customer and site records, available to all staff. Such events can also trigger automatic tasks via Workflows.
